💡 Wisdom in Decisions & Building Apps
Alright, so I finished work. I’ve got plans, I’ve got ideas, and you know sometimes you have to think carefully. A thought came to me — something about decisions, wisdom, and momentum.
📜 Ancient Wisdom on Decisions
Someone — maybe Miyamoto Musashi, maybe not — once said:
In matters of small importance, take your time deciding. In matters of great importance, decide quickly.
- ⚡ Big decisions demand bold, swift action — follow your heart & gut.
- 🧩 Small decisions shape habits — and habits shape character.
- 🌱 Repetition builds discipline, strength, and ultimately identity.
🤔 What This Really Means
Big choices — love, career, life changes — are like branches on the tree of experience. Wait too long, and you risk losing momentum.
Small choices — dishes, cigarettes, a quick habit — ripple outward in unexpected ways. That’s where patience and careful thought matter most.
💻 Applying This to AI & Software Engineering
My research into AI-assisted software engineering (AI-ASE) continues. What I’ve learned:
- 📝 Documentation & explicit requirements = better AI results.
- 🔍 Testing and iteration = essential for learning.
- 📊 Don’t build the entire database first — evolve it as features are added.
- 🎯 Start with 3 core features, describe them in detail, and expand gradually.
🚀 My Current Focus
I bought a boilerplate app that already includes:
- ✅ Authentication (Google, Apple)
- ✅ Payments via RevenueCat
- ✅ Monitoring & error tracking
- ✅ Onboarding & user settings
My next steps:
- 🔧 Get everything working out-of-the-box (focus on Android for now).
- 📑 Document the existing features & database structure.
- 🎯 Define 3 core additions:
- 👥 Team members
- 🏢 Organizations
- 🖼️ Projects & photos
🌟 Conclusion
In life and in software:
- ⚡ Make big moves quickly — trust your instincts.
- 🌱 Take small moves slowly — habits form character.
- 💻 Stay disciplined, stay curious, and keep building.
Momentum is everything — both in code and in life.
